In addition to traditional psychotherapy, I offer somatic psychotherapy. This somatic therapy is called Integrative Body Psychotherapy. I am a teacher, trainer, and supervisor of Integrative Body Psychotherapy. Somatic therapy studies the relationship between the mind and body in relation to the psychological past. Our bodies store trauma and as human beings we can hold on to and tough out traumas for years, even from childhood, until symptoms manifest. This holding pattern creates instability and stress in our ANS (autonomic nervous system) leading to living from a chronic fight, flight or freeze state. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, physical pain, chronic emptiness, anger, and an overall disconnection/depersonalization from your body. This therapy utilizes breathwork, somatic experiencing, Gestalt therapy, and other transformational tools to release past and present trauma; thereby rebalancing the nervous system and helping you heal. Additionally, this somatic therapy will help you unlock your natural sense of well being, joy, purpose, and vitality.
